The Friends of Tunnel Mill Scouting Heritage Society Corp (EIN 87-3079332) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving the historic Tunnel Mill Scout Reservation in Charlestown, Indiana. The group is currently raising funds to purchase the historic 1800s campground to keep it open as a public youth camp. 

Mission & Goals

• Historic Preservation: They protect the site's rich history, which includes an 1816 hand-blasted mill race tunnel and the remnants of early Indiana gristmills built by pioneer John Work.

• Camp Preservation: To prevent the sale and potential development of the land by the Lincoln Heritage Council (Boy Scouts of America), the group aims to buy the property and operate it as a community space for all youth, not just Scouts.

• Community Use: Planned activities include weekend camping, summer day camps, historical hikes, and facility rentals for weddings or family reunions.
