Lodge History
Formation (January 1, 2013): Nguttitehen Lodge #205 was officially established as a brand-new, unified entity. It was formed by the merger of Talligewi Lodge #62 and White Horse Lodge #201.
The Totem: The official totem of the lodge is a fire, specifically representing the fire of cheerfulness.
The Name: Nguttitehen originates from the Lenni-Lenape (Delaware) language and translates to "to be of one heart and one mind". [1]
A Deeper Lineage: Though the lodge itself was founded in 2013, its historical roots trace back roughly 90 years through a vast family tree of historical council mergers. According to the official Nguttitehen Lodge history page, the territory it governs includes the legacy of several defunct pioneer lodges:
Tseyedin Lodge #65
Zit-Kala-Sha Lodge #123
Wapiti Lodge #367
Walah Elemamekhaki Lodge #405
White Feather Lodge #499
